Job Description

ECC Corrosion, Inc. located in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, is an established composites manufacturer serving the energy, mining, pulp and paper, chemical, food processing, water/wastewater and transportation industries. We seek a highly motivated individual with industrial manufacturing / quality control experience and strong communication skills to join our team. Responsibilities include providing necessary inspections and tests to ensure that all composite and other equipment is fabricated in accordance with all applicable specifications and codes. Inspection and testing duties include the inspection and testing of received raw materials, in-process inspection and testing of components as they are being fabricated and assembled, final inspection and equipment testing (as required) of finished equipment prior to release for shipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following: 1. Performing inspections and tests on raw materials as they are received in accordance with the Company's QC Manual and recording the inspection and test data on the appropriate QC forms and applications. 2. Performing in-process inspections and tests in accordance with the applicable specifications and the Company's QC Manual and recording the inspection and test data on the appropriate QC forms and applications. 3. Assisting in providing instruction to and communicating effectively with manufacturing employees as it pertains to proper quality control procedures and fabrication techniques. 4. Assisting and communicating effectively with customers and/or customer's representative when they are in the plant performing inspections and tests. 5. Performing final inspections and tests on finished equipment, and releasing that equipment for shipment. 6. Generating a Fabricator's Data Report, and compiling all QC documentation into a Fabricator's Data Package for each job fabricated. 7. Timely and effectively reporting inspection and test findings, results and issues to the Quality Assurance Manager and Production Manager. 8. Performing all other duties and tasks outlined in the Company's QC Manual. 9. Representing the Company in the most positive manner with the prospective, former and current customers we serve. 10. Handling confidential information with tact and discretion. 11. Participating in quality assurance and other training and educational programs as may be required by the Company from time to time. 12. Experience:
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably in a quality control technician role. Experience in the inspection of products in the manufacturing environment (ideally fiberglass reinforced products) preferred. Experience with or ability to learn kaizen and lean manufacturing techniques required. Experience with developing and documenting procedures required.
Skills and Abilities:
Must beskilled in the use of precision measurement tools such as micrometers and electronic scales; creating, manipulating and utilizing spreadsheets and word processing programs; reading and comprehending blueprints and specifications. Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills. Must be able to perform various tests in a laboratory setting, accurately compile and record observations and other data, and analyze test results. Must be able to read, analyze, able to write reports, able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers. Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills and be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee frequently is required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee may be required to walk for extended periods throughout the day; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and crawl through small openings (i.e., 24" manway). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The performance of this position regularly requires exposure to manufacturing areas requiring the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Vision must be adequate enough to see small defects and nonconformities (1/16" and larger). Must be able to work varying shifts and travel to customer locations for field service projects from time to time.
