2/27/2025 Overview The Composite Technician role at Gunwerks primarily involves assembling components of the Gunwerks shooting system, with a specific focus on composite stocks This role requires strict adherence to work instructions and processes, with a strong emphasis on verifying the function and appearance of assembled components to ensure customer satisfaction. The technician must maintain a high level of detail and follow company quality processes and best practices. Additionally, the role includes utilizing manufacturing orders, inspecting products for defects, collaborating with other technicians, monitoring inventory, reporting discrepancies, assisting with supply orders, and maintaining the facility. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Performance is evaluated based on punctuality, effective use of time, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation. The position offers on-the-job training. Primary Responsibilities Material Handling Follow correct storage guidelines for all composite materials Use appropriate (Provided) PPE while working with composites Use of pattern cutting table safely and appropriately Lay-Up/Demolding Follow documented work instructions for layup procedures and process (Do not vary from approved process) Demolding and deflashing Report scrap to supervisor when needed Maintenance Maintain and service of equipment and molds regularly and when needed Work stations cleaned and organized daily Miscellaneous Duties Mix and pour silicon molds Prep and fill stock seams when needed Maintain foam machine as needed
Key Performance Indicators Task Completion Time:
Percentage of daily work assignments completed within the established time frames.
Workstation Cleanliness:
Daily assessment of workstation cleanliness and organization.
Inspection Thoroughness:
Number of errors or defects caught during pre- and post-prep material inspection.
Rework Rate:
Frequency of rework needed on prepared materials.
Schedule Adherence:
Percentage of time the technician follows the approved daily work schedule.
Inventory Accuracy:
Accuracy of pulling and organizing components using Odoo.
Equipment Maintenance:
Number of equipment issues reported or maintenance logs completed.
Quality Control:
Number of defects or issues found in materials passed to the next work center.
Improvement Project Participation:
Level of engagement and contribution to improvement/clean-up projects.
Work Instruction Adherence:
Percentage of work completed following documented work instructions.
Decision-Making Authority:
Level 1: Independent Decisions Implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives within the work area. Re-ordering consumable supplies and materials through the materials department. Enforcing safety regulations and procedures. Level 2: Collaborative Decisions (requires consultation or approval) Changes to documented procedures and work instructions. Development of new production processes. Cross-functional project decisions impacting production. Addressing minor equipment malfunctions and coordinating repairs.
