Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drapery Sewer to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality drapery and upholstery fabrics, transforming raw materials into beautifully finished products that meet precise specifications. Your expertise in sewing, measuring, and fabric handling will contribute to creating stunning window treatments and custom upholstery pieces. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of fabric materials, utilize industrial sewing machines, and bring elegant designs to life with precision and care. Duties Operate industrial sewing machines and serging equipment to assemble drapery panels, curtains, and upholstery pieces efficiently and accurately Measure fabric materials using precise measuring instruments to ensure correct dimensions for each project Cut fabric manually with sharp cutting tools following detailed patterns and specifications Construct garments and upholstery items by sewing seams, hems, pleats, and other detailed stitch work in accordance with quality standards in production Handle materials carefully to prevent damage, ensuring proper storage and transportation of fabrics and finished products Maintain strict adherence to safety standards in production environments, including proper machine operation procedures Conduct dimensional measurements throughout the sewing process to guarantee consistency and quality of finished items Requirements Proven experience with garment sewing, upholstery sewing, or related textile craftsmanship Familiarity with measuring instruments such as rulers, tape measures, and fabric gauges Knowledge of quality standards in production to ensure high-quality output Ability to operate sewing machines including industrial sewing machines and sergers confidently Skilled in manual cutting techniques for fabric materials with precision Understanding of safety standards in production environments to maintain a safe workspace Experience working with various fabric materials including upholstery fabrics and textiles used in window treatments Basic knowledge of embroidery techniques is a plus but not required Strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to follow detailed instructions Join us as a Drapery Sewer and bring your craftsmanship into creating beautiful, functional pieces that enhance living spaces!
