Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Shop Technician to join our production team. This position is responsible for operating CNC machines, table saws, chop saws, edgebanding equipment, and other woodworking tools to manufacture custom closet and cabinetry components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on woodworking experience, in a fast paced panel production or wood manufacturing environment. Which could include but not limited to, working with laminate sheets, accurately cutting and finishing melamine or wood panels. Responsibilities Safely operate table saws, chop saws, CNC machines, edgebanders, and other woodworking equipment Read and follow cut lists, technical drawings, measurements, and job specifications Cut sheet goods and cabinet components accurately using CNC equipment Set up CNC machines and verify programs, tooling, materials, and measurements before production Operate and maintain manual and automated edgebanding equipment Set machine parameters according to material thickness and job specifications Run panels and shelves through the edgebander and inspect them for proper adhesion and a clean finish Build custom floating shelves using wood, plywood, laminate, and other approved materials Cut, apply, trim, and finish laminate sheets for shelves and custom cabinetry components Use table saws and chop saws to fabricate panels, shelves, trim, and specialty pieces Inspect all finished parts for accurate measurements, clean cuts, proper edge application, and overall quality Label, organize, and stage completed components for assembly or installation Troubleshoot minor equipment and production issues Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on machinery and tools Monitor material usage and report defects, shortages, or equipment concerns Work collaboratively with the production team to keep projects on schedule Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Qualifications Woodworking, or wood manufacturing experience Experience safely operating table saws and chop saws Experience building floating shelves or other custom wood components Experience working with laminate sheets, plywood, melamine, and wood panels Experience operating CNC and edgebanding equipment in a woodworking or cabinet-manufacturing environment Ability to read and understand cut lists, technical drawings, measurements, and blueprints Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team Ability to lift and safely handle panels and sheet materials Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work on your feet for extended periods Forklift certification or willingness to become certified Reliable transportation, punctuality, and consistent attendance Preferred Experience operating a Casadei Flexa 201 edgebander or similar equipment Experience operating Nested base CNC routers in a panel processing environment Knowledge of laminate application, bonding, trimming, and finishing Familiarity with custom closet or cabinet manufacturing Benefits Competitive pay based on skills and experience Opportunities for training and advancement within a rapidly growing company Consistent, full-time work Supportive and collaborative team environment Join Affordable Closets Inc. and contribute your woodworking and machine-operation expertise to a team focused on quality craftsmanship, efficient production, and exceptional customer services.
