Job Description
Turn Beautiful Quilt Tops into Family Heirlooms At Quilters HQ, every quilt tells a story. Our customers trust us with projects that often represent months—or even years—of creativity and cherished memories. We're looking for a detail-oriented individual with intermediate sewing skills who takes pride in producing exceptional work. As a Quilt Machine Operator, you'll operate our computerized Quilting Master QMIV quilting system while also providing professional quilt finishing services, including serging and binding. If you enjoy precision sewing, working with technology, and creating beautiful finished products, we'd love to meet you. Training is provided on our quilting system; however, applicants should already be comfortable using a sewing machine and possess intermediate sewing skills. Responsibilities Operate our computerized Quilting Master QMIV quilting system to produce high-quality customer quilts. Use a Windows PC to open, edit, save, and organize digital quilting design files. Position, size, and combine computerized quilting designs to fit customer quilts. Measure customer quilts, backing, batting, and fabric accurately to ensure proper fit and alignment throughout the quilting process. Load quilts into the quilting frame and monitor stitch quality during production. Inspect finished quilts for quality and perform stitch repairs when necessary. Serge quilt edges and complete quilt binding services with professional-quality results. Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, oiling, and changing needles. Monitor batting inventory and notify management when supplies need replenishing. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow written instructions, customer specifications, and company quality standards. Assist with other production duties as assigned Skills Intermediate sewing skills with experience operating a sewing machine. Ability to sew straight, consistent seams and produce professional-quality work. Comfortable using a Windows PC and learning new software. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity. High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Quilting or quilt construction experience. Experience using a serger. Industrial or production sewing experience. Experience working with computerized sewing or embroidery equipment. Physical Requirements Stand and walk throughout the workday. Lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally. Reach, bend, push, and pull materials.
