Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sewing Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for sewing and assembling upholstery materials for aircraft interiors using industrial sewing machines. The ideal candidate has experience working with a variety of materials, maintains high quality standards, and can efficiently operate, adjust, and maintain sewing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Operate industrial sewing machines to sew fabrics, vinyl, leather, polyboard, and polyfoam for aircraft interior components Prepare sewing machines by changing needles, threading machines, and securing necessary attachments Inspect materials for defects prior to production to ensure quality standards are met Guide materials through sewing machines to accurately assemble products Monitor machine performance, identify malfunctions, and adjust settings as needed for optimal operation Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on sewing equipment Complete production and quality control logs accurately Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Assist with other production duties as assigned to support team objectives.
Job Requirements:
MUST be bilingual - English AND Spanish. Previous experience operating industrial sewing machines preferred Ability to sew a variety of materials, including fabric, vinyl, and leather Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high-quality workmanship Basic mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and perform routine machine maintenance Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
