POSITION SUMMARY

Performs various stages in sewing by conjoining component materials/parts to make product; uses non-complex single-needle and double-needle, manual, semi-automatic and automated machines.

PRINICIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Matches material or parts in correct sequence prior to sewing them 2. Aligns material or parts into the proper position and feeds into machine under machine needles and presser feet to sew parts together 3. Transfers conjoined/sewn item to next assembly stage 4. Maintains count of items processes 5. Performs quality checks; removes incorrectly assembled items from rotation; repairs or discards rejected items 6. Cleans and monitors machine to detect defective stitching, breaks in thread or machine malfunctions ensure proper functioning 7. Cross trains on other machines 8. Performs other job duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1. Prior commercial sewing experience preferred 2. Ability to operate manual, semi-automated and automated sewing machines 3. Basic addition and subtraction; must be able to count 4. Ability to work independently as well as with others 5. Ability to sit for long periods of time (8 to 10 hours) 6.
