Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Sewing Technician to fabricate, repair, and customize marine canvas products, including boat enclosures, bimini tops, cockpit covers, storage covers, and upholstery components. The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial sewing machines and working with marine-grade materials such as canvas, vinyl, acrylic fabrics, and clear enclosure materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Measure, cut, and sew marine fabrics to precise specifications. Fabricate boat enclosures, bimini tops, cockpit covers, and custom marine canvas products. Install zippers, snaps, fasteners, binding, and other marine hardware. Work with clear vinyl enclosure materials, including isinglass and scratch-resistant products. Read and interpret patterns, templates, and customer specifications. Repair and modify existing marine canvas and upholstery products. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy. Collaborate with customers and team members to ensure projects meet expectations and deadlines.
Qualifications:
Experience operating industrial sewing machines (walking foot preferred). Ability to work with marine-grade fabrics, vinyl, and clear enclosure materials. Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship. Ability to accurately measure and cut materials. Basic knowledge of marine canvas fabrication techniques. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a production environment. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous marine canvas, upholstery, or awning fabrication experience. Experience with patterning and custom fitting boat enclosures. Knowledge of marine hardware installation and repair. Familiarity with products such as Sunbrella, Strataglass, and AquaTop Sapphire Isinglass.
