Job Description
Powder Coat Operator (5:00am to 1:30pm) G&W Electric Co. life insurance, vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, profit sharing United States, Illinois, Bolingbrook 305 West Crossroads Parkway (Show on map) Sep 14, 2026 Powder Coat Operator In this job you will prepare components for powder coat application, including loading, washing this includes cleaning with the electro chemical cleaning process, applying, curing and unloading components. Hand abrasive blasting maybe required. As a Powder Coat Operator you will: Load and unload parts or product onto fixtures
Prepare parts for coating
- including electro chemical cleaning as required
Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application
Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers and booth systems
Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
Determine material flow and coating quality by performing visual inspections
Bake/cure parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations
Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with company established goals for quality before passing on to the next operation
Perform proper cleaning and daily maintenance of equipment
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of powder coat operations tasks as needed
Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation
Document actions by completing production and quality forms
Communicate effectively with others at various levels of the organization.
We are looking for someone who: Is able to safely use small hand and power tools
Is able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material
Must have basic computer skills
Is able to work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating work with other team members
Is able to effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written, and to communicate instructions to others in a clear, professional, and respectful manner.
Has demonstrated ability to work independently without constant supervision Holds a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Ideally you will also have:
1-2 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment
1-2 years' experience working as a painter or powder coat operator The physical demands of the job are: Work is classified as Medium
