Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
: Operates and maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment, compressors, generators and steam boilers, to provide for utilities, such as light, heat and power for refrigeration, air conditioning and other services for the hospital. This position requires detailed knowledge of and the ability to operate and maintain the facility's major mechanical systems, i.e. heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, communication, and fire protection. QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma/GED Technical training from an accredited school or apprenticeship program for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, or other construction trades OR 1 year of previous commercial boiler plant experience and/or healthcare maintenance operations. May be required to obtain and maintain boiler operator licenses or other certifications as specifically required by State or local authorities. Analytical skills necessary to recognize, diagnose, and, within limits, repair equipment and system malfunctions. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and to give readily understood information in both verbal and written forms. Ability to read and write is essential. Requires a valid State driver's license.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
