Multiple Evening Shifts Qualifications:
Required:
High School education or GED. Able to lift fifty (50) pounds or more. Practical experience in all areas of responsibility. Must have or be capable of obtaining a Low-Pressure Boiler Operating License, if applying for a position in a building with a low pressure boiler. Candidates without a boiler license will be placed on the custodian salary schedule until such time that they attain their boiler operating license. Working knowledge of tools and equipment is required to perform tasks within the school. Must have a valid Driver's License. Successful completion of a background check, physical capacity assessment, and drug screen prior to start date.

Purpose:
This person will have an assigned custodial schedule. The individual will be responsible for the operation of mechanical equipment within the designated building. Snow removal during the winter months.
  • Essential Job Functions:
  • Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
  • Maintains a positive, cooperative, and respectful working relationship with other maintenance staff, school principals, teachers, students, and administrators
  • Available for after-hour calls.
  • Operation of mechanical equipment.
  • The individual will be responsible for the operation of mechanical equipment within the designated building.
  • Preform engineer tasks to include, but not limited to, mechanical equipment filter changes, roof drain clearing/clearing debris from roofs.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Performing a custodial cleaning schedule which will consist of: dust mopping, wet mopping, and restroom cleaning, cleaning of classrooms and other areas, and disposing of the trash.
  • Open the building in the mornings and/or secure the building at the end of the day.
  • Order custodial supplies for the building from central supplies.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary for recordkeeping.
  • Inspecting the general condition of the building and grounds and writing Maintenance Requests for items that need attention that relates to maintenance repairs, health or safety.
  • Maintains appropriate grooming and appearance for work in a school setting as defined by the district handbook.
  • Snow removal during the winter months.
  • To perform other duties as directed by the Director of Maintenance & Operations or his appointed Representative.
