Job Description

Job Title:
Aluminum Extrusion Oven Tender Non-Exempt Job Summary:
The Aluminum Extrusion Oven Tender is responsible for operating and monitoring aging ovens used in the heat treatment of aluminum extrusions. This role ensures that all products are processed according to specified temperature and time cycles to meet mechanical property requirements. The Oven Tender plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, safety, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Load and unload aluminum extrusions into aging ovens. Set and monitor oven temperature and cycle times based on work orders and alloy specifications. Communicate with quality control and extrusion teams regarding any deviations or issues. Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Keeping the presses stocked with empties. Ensuring samples are on racks and in oven, as well as helping QC get those samples back for testing. Feeding racks into and from the pack lines, per packing schedule. Ensuring material flow into the downstream loading dock for 109 pickup. Time management, and oven utilization for maximum efficiency.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED 1+ year experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Ability to read and interpret work orders, technical instructions, and safety documents Basic computer skills for data entry and monitoring oven controls Forklift certification or willingness to obtain Knowledge of PLC or automated oven systems
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods Tolerance for high-temperature environments Use of cranes or material handling equipment Work Environment This position operates in both office and manufacturing floor environments. Exposure to noise, machinery, temperature variation, and industrial conditions may occur when accessing plant areas.
