Stationary Engineer (Union Position) Millwright Local 1421 - Arlington, TX Millwright Local 1421 is actively seeking a skilled and motivated Stationary Engineer to support operations at healthcare and commercial facilities in the Midland TX area. Position Overview The Stationary Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of central plant systems , including HVAC, boilers, and energy management systems. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted facility operations. ⚙ Key Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and maintain central plant equipment (boilers, chillers, HVAC systems) Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all systems and equipment Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in real time Monitor and adjust Energy Management Systems (EMS) to optimize building performance Conduct routine equipment inspections and building rounds Accurately document maintenance activities and system performance Respond to service calls in a professional and timely manner Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent Experience with: HVAC systems and temperature controls Boiler and steam systems Water treatment for heating/cooling systems Energy Management Systems (EMS/BMS) Basic computer and math skills OSHA Basic & NFPA 70E (or ability to obtain) Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
Preferred:
Prior experience in healthcare or large facility environments Work Environment Physically active role (lifting up to 100 lbs, climbing ladders/stairs) Work in mechanical rooms, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions Exposure to noise, heat, cold, and industrial environments Why Join Millwright Local 1421?
