Tooling Technician (Off Shift)#26-01705

McCalla, AL

Onsite Job Description Job Description:

The Tooling Technician is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing all tool room functions to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards.

Responsibilities:

Analyzes concerns related to molds, tools and fixtures used with the injection mold area to determine root causes

Conducts thorough examination of incoming molds, tools and fixtures and makes repairs as needed to make them operational (this may require the use of tools including but not limited to a welder, mill or lathe)

Disassemble and Assemble molds

Regularly reads and interprets blueprints and makes math computations

Repair, fix and implement engineering changes of molds

Develop and implement corrective & preventative actions

Make fixture details

Communicate with outside vendors when outsourcing tool repairs or obtaining quotes

Work with various departments to implement customer concerns

Follow plant safety rules, report safety problems & all injuries regardless of severity

Requirements:

3 years experience in a similar role

Tooling Journeyman's Certificate, preferred

Crane Operating experience, preferred

Schedule flexibility is required for this role as mandatory overtime may be required due to changing and last-minute customer demands

Regular and consistent attendance to scheduled shift

Ability to work under pressure to tight time scales

Ability to communicate at all levels efficiently
