$60,217 - $90,325 annually 1st Shift Hours Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool & Die Machinist to join our client's manufacturing team. This position is responsible for analyzing technical specifications and performing bench and machine operations to construct, modify, maintain, and repair tools and dies. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of tooling practices, excellent machining and troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to precision and quality. You will use a variety of conventional and CNC equipment, along with precision measuring instruments, to produce components that meet exact specifications and tolerances. Key Responsibilities Review blueprints, sketches, models, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements and sequence operations. Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders. Machine tool and die components to required dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes. Construct, modify, repair, and maintain tools, dies, and related components. Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial indicators, to verify dimensions, alignment, and clearances. Interpret and calculate dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances based on engineering drawings and specifications. Perform test runs on tools and dies to verify proper operation and compliance with specifications. Troubleshoot tooling and production issues and make necessary adjustments or repairs. Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to support die setup and improve setup efficiency on the production floor. Collect and maintain accurate production and quality-control data. Follow established SOPs, safety procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Support production goals while maintaining high standards for quality and workmanship. Completion of a recognized machinist/toolmaker apprenticeship or technical certification is preferred. Strong knowledge of tooling practices, machining processes, and applications. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment. Experience setting up and operating conventional and CNC machine tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Commitment to workplace safety and established manufacturing procedures. Technical Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and precision. Ability to troubleshoot dies, tooling, equipment, and production issues. EDM, CNC
mills, and grinders is a plus. Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, fits, and clearances. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with Production and Engineering teams. Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and managing multiple priorities. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to accurately document production and quality information. Willingness to follow SOPs, safety procedures, and OSHA standards. Physical & Other Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on machining and tooling activities. Ability to lift and handle materials and tooling as required. Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position. Occasional travel of less than 5% may be required.
