Overview The Die Room Support is responsible for picking up, cleaning, and sorting dies used on the production floor; maintaining die inventories within the drawing departments; and using Conoptica/Viso optical sensor to measure profile of dies. They are responsible for visual inspection of worn dies from the production floor. Education & Experience Requirements High School diploma or equivalency, required. Job Responsibilities Refill all die stations in the wire drawing departments at all of the facilities. This can involve travel between the facilities. Retrieve all worn dies from the wire drawing departments at all of the facilities. This can involve travel between the facilities. Clean dies and sort by size. (Exposure to cleaning chemicals.) Put usable dies away in good Vidmar's by specific size, die type. Provide Conoptica/Viso optical sensor measurement of dies for drawing departments upon request. Visual inspection of worn dies from the production floor. Perform other duties as requested by management. Skills Needed Ability to perform basic computer functions. Possess intermediate math, reading, and writing skills. Mechanical aptitude, preferred. Strong attention to detail. Good hand dexterity. Understand and apply safe work practices. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Fast paced production environment. Work hours consist of 40 hours per week. Overtime may sometimes be required. May work with and around hazardous chemicals. Appropriate PPE must be worn where posted and required. Exposure to fluctuating temperatures may occur. Average weights in production range from 10-25 lbs. Maximum weights may exceed 75-80 lbs. on occasion. May be required to perform work above shoulder height. Frequent bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting. Must be able to access all areas of operation. Standing/walking most of shift.
