Job Description

Position Summary The Tool Room Technician will set up and prepare die cast tooling for production (changeover/assembly), clean die cast tooling components and other related equipment, organize, measure and order die cast tooling components and work closely with their supervisor to maintain tooling. The Tool Room Technician is responsible for performing tooling setups, tooling maintenance, and other related activities. Essential Functions/Key Deliverables Collect, compile, measure, summarize and record data gathered during measuring. Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment in order to ensure compliance with published specification. Inspect and evaluate tools to identify defects. Track and report tool life and cost based on consumption and production records. Perform laboratory housekeeping. Maintain laboratory recognition / accreditation. Issue and keep record of exchanging tools. Co-operate with Production Department to optimize tooling consumption, spoilage reduction and technical support. Monitor the quantity and quality parameters dependent on the condition of tools, report low stock to principals. Maintain required tool stock levels, manage the tools rotation and supervise polishing. Collect and archive technical parameters. Review tools about quality; license for production. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of systems, including performing internal audits as required. Comply with all Health & Safety regulations, rules, procedures and policies. Comply with all environmental requirements as stipulated in ISO and SQF procedures and guidelines on Health & Safety. Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role. Must be able to work independently and to organize own work. Knowledge of technical drawing Ability to set up and operate various metalworking machinery such as lathes, mills, drills, and precision grinding machines.
