Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Toolmaker to join our manufacturing team. Advance Welding provides high-quality machining, design, welding, brazing, and fabricating services to customers in the medical, military and defense, aerospace, and power generation industries. The company operates under AS9100 and ISO9001-approved quality systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical knowledge and craftsmanship in a dynamic environment dedicated to excellence and innovation. Duties This is a full-time, on-site Toolmaker role based in Springfield, Massachusetts. We're hiring a skilled Tool Maker to fabricate precision tools, dies, and fixtures from blueprints. Experience with Bridgeport mills, surface grinders & lathes Strong blueprint reading & GD&T knowledge Precision measurement skills (micrometers, calipers, etc.) Ability to fabricate, fit, and hand-finish tooling to tight tolerances Commitment to quality and safety, with experience working under structured quality systems such as AS9100, ISO9001, or similar standards. Experience Proven experience as a Toolmaker or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment specializing in tooling fabrication or maintenance. Skilled in using precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, gauges, grinders, and other measurement instruments for quality control purposes. Hands-on experience with manual machining methods, tool & die fabrication, assembly of tooling components, and fabrication of fixtures or jigs. Familiarity with shop math principles necessary for machining setup and fabrication accuracy. Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret schematics. Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to follow work instructions and maintain clear records of tool designs and changes. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining or toolmaking strongly preferred. Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
