Manufacturing Production / DistributionEqual Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/DisabledMain Duties & Responsibilities This is a hands-on, working Tool Maker role responsible for both building and leading tooling efforts from kickoff through completion. In addition to performing toolmaking work on the floor, this role serves as the go-to resource for project status, timelines, and decision-making. You'll play a key role in balancing in-house production and outsourcing, while ensuring projects stay on track, on budget, and aligned with business goals.Top Objectives:
Build validated tooling to meet tight tolerances and precision requirementsOwn and communicate tooling timelines, serving as the primary point of accountability for completion datesEvaluate and decide when work should be completed in-house vs. outsourcedManage relationships with external vendors to ensure quality, timing, and cost targets are metParticipate in tool kickoff meetings with clients to align scope, timing, and expectationsTrack and manage tooling costs and labor hours to protect profitability marginsSupport performance management and annual reviews for direct reportsThis role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Clinton Township, MI location.The expected pay range for this position is $50-60/hour.

Qualifications Qualifications:
10+ years of hands-on tool and die building experience in plastic injection manufacturing5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing mold shop environment5+ years of experience conducting design reviews, including direct collaboration with customers/client5+ years experience strategically managing relationships with outsourcesWork Environment:
This role will be split between anoffice and a tool room within a manufacturing plant. You'll be expected to movearound the office and manufacturing areas, with daily computer use andoccasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
