Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die professional responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining dies, tooling, fixtures, and related equipment to support efficient production and consistent product quality. This role plays a key part in keeping manufacturing operations running smoothly by minimizing downtime and ensuring tooling performs to required standards.Qualifications & Background:
Completion of a Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship, certification, or equivalent hands-on experience Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Proven experience operating toolroom and manufacturing machinery Comfortable using computers for documentation and basic system functions Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) practices Effective time management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, tooling drawings, and specificationsKey Responsibilities:
Repair and maintain dies, tooling, fixtures, jigs, and production equipment to avoid interruptions in manufacturing Construct and modify new tooling as needed to support production demands Calculate dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements for precision work Set up and operate various machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, and other toolroom machinery Layout, secure, and machine metal stock or cast components for fabrication or repair Perform tool steel welding and related repair processes Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools to ensure specification compliance Assemble, fit, or disassemble tooling components using hand tools and shop equipment Produce and repair metal patterns, core boxes, and cast tooling components Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on dies and tools Respond quickly to tooling or quality concerns, providing corrective actions to reduce downtime Maintain accurate daily records, repair logs, and production documentation Control operating costs through efficient planning, material usage, and resource managementJob Type:
