You will leverage your expertise in mold mechanics and precision machining to resolve complex technical challenges, minimize equipment downtime, and drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities Diagnose and resolve complex mold-related defects such as flash, short shots, and cosmetic inconsistencies directly on the production floor. Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance and emergency repairs, including the replacement of pins, bushings, slides, and ejector components. Maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated hot runner systems to ensure optimal thermal performance and leak-free operation. Support the successful launch of new programs by facilitating mold trials, process startups, and necessary tooling adjustments. Perform precision machining tasks including welding, grinding, and manual lathe/mill work to restore damaged components to specification. Utilize CAD software and precision measurement tools to reverse engineer parts and implement effective, long-term tooling solutions. Document all maintenance activities and tooling modifications to uphold high standards of operational efficiency and safety. Required Skills Over 10 years of hands-on experience maintaining injection molds within a high-volume manufacturing environment. Advanced proficiency in operating manual toolroom equipment, including mills, lathes, and surface grinders. Extensive background in CNC programming, G-code, and CAD/CAM software integration. Demonstrated expertise in EDM sinker and wire operations. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret complex mold blueprints and technical schematics. Proven ability to operate overhead cranes and handle heavy tooling safely. Preferred Skills Technical certification in Tool & Die or professional Mold Making. Specialized experience in precision micro TIG welding and high-level surface polishing. Proficiency in SolidWorks or Fusion 360 for design and modification tasks. Familiarity with ERP systems like IQMS for tracking maintenance and production data. Prior experience working within tight-tolerance industries such as medical device or automotive manufacturing.
