They analyze design specifications, cut and shape metal, assemble parts, and test completed products for use in manufacturing facilities. General Duties and Responsibilities Always keep assigned work areas clean and sanitary while containing and reporting all workplace safety hazard or conditions. Ensure knowledge of and maintain compliance with the Quality Policy of Concord Tool & Manufacturing. Reading and interpreting blueprints, die/detail designs Experience with tool room machines (radial arm drill, lathe, surface grinders, and manual milling machines. Confident with the use of tool room tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, etc...) and applying the math needed to achieve desired results. Experienced in identifying die issues, dismantling, repairing and assembling stamping tools to meet customer expectations. Experience in new die build is a MUST, as we design and build all of our new dies, assembly and weld fixtures in house. Completing EOR (end of run) inspection in the press to determine if the tool is ready for the next run or needs attention in the tool room prior to next run. Die tryout of new tools, engineering changes or large scale repairs to tool. Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings. Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances. Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts. Measuring and marking metal stock for machining. Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines. Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions. Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish. Fitting and assembling tools and die parts. Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities. Conducting test runs with completed tools and dies. Qualifications and Education Requirements High School Diploma Minimum 5 years of experience with metal stamping progressive dies. Wages are competitive and negotiable.
