Job Title:
Journeyman Tool and Die Job Description This position is for a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker, primarily working on the second shift from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This role involves training on the second shift for the foreseeable future. Compensation includes an hourly rate plus a shift premium, with annual contractual increases. Responsibilities Complete die repair line ups, assisting with rebuilding and repairing a wide range of progressive dies. Handle die repairs and maintenance, read prints, sharpen tools, and change pins and punches. Interpret blueprints and use precision measuring devices to create or modify tooling based on job specifications. Set up and operate tool room machines, selecting appropriate materials and tools while adhering to safety protocols. Ensure all tools are sharpened and maintained in optimal condition before storage or release to production. Utilize knowledge of jigs, fixtures, and dies to set up and run test dies, troubleshooting and correcting any issues to meet specifications. Operate hand tools and, as needed, perform heat treating or welding on components. Comply with all safety regulations, including lockout procedures, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Complete necessary documentation, including tool logs and condition reports for tracking and data collection. Collaborate effectively with skilled trades and production staff, offering insights into manufacturing capabilities. Undertake additional tasks as directed by supervisors. Essential Skills Print Reading 8+ years of tool and die repair experience Grinding and Machining Ability to work all three shifts Journeyman card as Tool & Die Repair or Tool Maker Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience withHAAS CNC

Work Environment The work is primarily conducted in a large tool room within a metal stamping plant that houses 18 progressive stamping presses. The facility is older but well maintained and well-lit. Employees are expected to wear jeans or work pants, with work shirts provided, along with steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs. The current schedule involves working six days a week, with occasional weeks extending to seven days due to new die setups and tryouts. The facility offers a supportive environment with three die repairmen per shift to ensure coverage for preventive maintenance and downed dies. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Saginaw, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72238.40- $72238.40/yr.
