Description Tool & Die Maker
  • Journeyman1st Shift Monday-Friday (7:00 am
  • 3:30 pm)Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Tool & Die Maker to be based out of Wayne, MI. 1st shift position for a candidate with experience. The Hourly wage rate for those holding a Journeyman card is $36.84. Reporting to the Tool & Die Manager, this person will be responsible for making and maintaining all types of tools, dies, and fixtures.

What you'll do:

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Diagnose and troubleshoot machine assemblies to perform necessary repairs on tools, manually-operated dies, and progressive diesEnsure accuracy of work performed by conducting test runs on tools and/or dies to ensure all components meet specificationsAbility to make adjustments to work performed when neededAbility to independently select the proper metals and materials to meet project specificationsSet up and operate both conventional and CNC machine toolsInterface with internal and external customers to ensure demands are being metResponsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork, transactions, tags, etc.

Adhere to all Life Saving Rules, including: Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO), Machine Guarding/Bypassing Safety Controls, and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety protocolsEnsure Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost metrics are met dailySupport 5S initiatives in assigned work areasOther job duties as assignedWhat you'll bring:

High School Diploma/GEDExperience using CAD and CNC software preferred1
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred3
  • 5 years experience in Tool & Die making required;Journeyman cardholder status requiredBasic math and verbal skillsExcellent technical skills, to include the ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot mechanical issuesAbility to learn to use and maintain equipment and machineryFlexibility of shift scheduling, to include overtime and weekendsDemonstrate Atkore Core Values
