Job Summary Modern Molding is seeking an experienced Toolmaker and Tooling Machinist to join our growing team. This full-time position focuses on building new plastic injection molds as well as modifying and repairing existing injection tooling. We are a privately held plastic injection molding company that has been in business for over forty years, and we are looking to expand our in-house Tooling Department. Responsibilities Build new plastic injection molds from technical blueprints and designs. Modify and repair existing plastic injection tools to meet production specifications. Set up and operate CNC machinery and traditional toolroom equipment. Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes for tooling components. Perform precision machining, grinding, and fitting of mold components. Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions for mold repair. Maintain clean and organized tooling department work areas. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize mold performance. Qualifications Proven experience as a Toolmaker, Tooling Machinist, or Mold Maker. Strong background in plastic injection molding tooling maintenance and repair. Experience setting up and operating CNC machine tools. Proficiency with Mastercam or equivalent CAD CAM programming software is highly preferred. Experience operating EDM electrical discharge machining equipment is a plus. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics. Strong mechanical aptitude and precision measurement skills using micrometers and calipers. High school diploma or equivalent, with technical schooling or apprenticeship preferred.

Pay:

$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
