Job Description

Primera Technology, Inc. is a highly respected designer and manufacturer of specialized digital color printing equipment. With more than 40 years of success, Primera is known for engineering excellence, innovation, and pride of craftsmanship.
The Role:
You will play a key role in producing high-quality components used in the manufacturing of specialty printers and labelers. Collaborating with partners across engineering and manufacturing, you'll design and build production fixtures/mechanisms to ensure manufacturing has the tools they need to build quality products. You will also support engineering by making parts and assembling prototype mechanisms. Additionally, you may be required to modify defective production parts. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in craftsmanship and enjoy solving technical challenges.
Expectations:
Design, build, and troubleshoot new tooling per design requirements Produce precision parts with tight tolerances that meet drawing specifications Perform additional machining or production support tasks as assigned Utilize a manual milling machine, digital lathe, drill press, bandsaw, sheet metal shear, sheet metal corner notcher, sheet metal brake, kick punch, hydraulic press, grinder/belt sander, miscellaneous hand tools, and various precision measuring equipment Have knowledge and be able to operate all tool room equipment safely and efficiently Verify product quality through visual inspections and measurement Read blue prints Communicate with managers on status of jobs Multitask in a high-paced environment Follow procedures and instructions Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair tooling Perform preventive maintenance and routine housekeeping of the tool room to ensure equipment reliability and uptime Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures and promptly reporting potential hazards to supervision
What We Seek:
High school diploma or equivalent required Must be 18 years or older and have the right to work in the US without sponsorship Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of tool making experience! 1-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions Proven ability to execute manufacturing processes within tight tolerances Familiarity with manual and machine tools, machining operations, and tool selection Strong mechanical aptitude and machine troubleshooting skills High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards Ability to understand documented processes and procedures Proven ability to work independently Willingness to listen, learn, and collaborate with others while contributing to team goals Overall commitment to continuous improvement, quality, operational excellence and safety Work Environment/Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed Ability to visually detect quality defects Ability to repetitively pinch and grasp hand tools, repetitively twist, bend and reach upward and handle small screws, washers, fasteners, etc. Work in an environment with moderate to high noise levels Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to be always worn while on duty. This includes safety glasses and steel-toed shoes.
