Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, and molds that are essential for producing high-quality components. Your expertise will ensure that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and with the utmost precision. Responsibilities Design and develop tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to meet production specifications. Operate CNC machines including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes to produce precise tooling components. Program CNC equipment utilizing CAM programming techniques to optimize machining processes. Use precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect parts for accuracy and quality. Fabricate tooling parts through welding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping press operations, and fabrication techniques. Maintain detailed schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation to ensure compliance with GD&T standards. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on tooling equipment to minimize downtime. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve tooling designs for enhanced efficiency and durability. Follow safety protocols rigorously when working with machinery such as stamping presses or plastics injection molding equipment. Support assembly processes by ensuring tooling aligns perfectly with production requirements. Requirements Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control. Hands-on experience operating CNC equipment including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes. Skilled in welding techniques and fabrication methods including electrical discharge machining (EDM). Familiarity with plastics injection molding processes and associated tooling requirements. Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately. Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent math skills for precise calculations during tool design and fabrication. Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards related to machining, fabrication, and assembly operations. Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail; ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
