Full-time Job Summary:
MUST HAVE TOOL/DIE EXPERIENCE
The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. This role requires advanced machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot tooling and production issues to ensure quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM equipment, to build or repair tooling. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, CAD drawings, and specifications to determine tool dimensions and tolerances. Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges. Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on tools and dies to minimize downtime. Inspect finished tools and dies to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve tool performance and production efficiency. Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance and repairs. Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical or trade school certification preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of machining operations and metal properties. Ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.). Proficiency in reading blueprints and CAD drawings. Experience with CNC machining and EDM equipment is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods. Working with machinery and hand tools in a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing shop setting with exposure to noise, oils, and moving machinery. Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
