Direct Hire Summary:
Nesco Resource is seeking an experienced Toolmaker III / Trainer to join a growing tool room in Victor, NY. This role is responsible for performing advanced toolmaking work on complex projects while also mentoring and training junior machinists and apprentices. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in precision machining, capable of working independently, and passionate about developing the next generation of toolmakers.
Pay Rate:
$34.00•$39.00/Hour (Based On Exp.)
Shift:
Day Shift | Monday•Friday | 7:00 AM•3:30
PM Key Responsibilities:
Study blueprints and plan machining and assembly of complex tooling Fabricate precision parts to tight tolerances (+•.0001 to .0005) Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, boring mills, and wire EDM equipment Measure, inspect, and verify parts to ensure conformance to specifications Perform layout work and surface plate inspections Assemble tooling and verify proper fit, alignment, and function Train and mentor Toolmakers and Machinists (Level I & II) Teach foundational skills such as blueprint reading, GD&T, and manual machining Provide hands-on training and constructive feedback to develop team skills Maintain a clean and safe work environment Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required 10+ years of toolmaking or machining experience Completion of NYS Apprenticeship Program with Journeyman Certificate required Experience mentoring or training apprentices or junior machinists preferred Prototrak experience preferred Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T Advanced math and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Ability to work independently and lead by example
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
