Production Supervisor Job Summary:
The Hydraulic Tube Bender is responsible for operating hydraulic tube bending machinery to bend metal tubes to precise specifications. This role requires adherence to technical drawings, quality standards, and safety protocols to produce components used in automotive, aerospace, industrial, or construction applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate hydraulic tube bending machines to bend metal tubing according to engineering drawings and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and bending charts to determine angles, radii, and dimensions. Measure, mark, and prepare tubes for bending, ensuring accurate lengths and orientation. Set up, adjust, and maintain hydraulic bending equipment, dies, and tooling. Inspect bent tubes for accuracy, alignment, and quality using measuring tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges. Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform minor repairs or report major issues to maintenance. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; follow all safety guidelines and company policies. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and quality standards. Document production data, including quantities, scrap, and machine settings, as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in machining or fabrication preferred. Proven experience operating hydraulic tube bending equipment. Strong understanding of tube bending principles, metal properties, and bending allowances. Proficient in reading technical drawings and bending charts. Knowledge of safety standards in metal fabrication and machine operation. Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy tubes and tooling as required. Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity and precision in handling machinery and materials.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing or fabrication shop setting. Exposure to metalworking machinery, noise, and moderate safety hazards (personal protective equipment required).
Preferred Experience:
Experience with CNC or automated tube bending machines. Familiarity with stainless steel, aluminum, or other specialty alloys.
