Job Description

About the Role As a Precision Tooling Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, fabrication, and maintenance of critical manufacturing components including dies, fixtures, and molds. Your technical expertise will directly impact production efficiency by ensuring all tooling meets rigorous precision standards and operational requirements. Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, R D, and production to engineer effective tooling solutions. Execute precise manual and CNC machining tasks to create or refurbish high-tolerance fixtures and dies. Maintain detailed records of all tool modifications, repairs, and preventative maintenance cycles to ensure long-term equipment reliability. Achieve consistent, repeatable setups with tolerances as tight as +/-.0002" to support high-quality manufacturing outputs. Provide technical support to machine operators and maintenance staff to resolve processing issues and minimize downtime. Manage workflow across various auxiliary equipment to ensure project timelines are met. Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a recognized Tool and Die or Mold Maker apprenticeship program or equivalent professional experience. Advanced proficiency in operating standard machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders. Expertise in interpreting complex blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair intricate tooling, molds, and dies. Preferred Skills Experience with CNC programming and code editing. Strong background in both manual and automated machining environments. Proven ability to optimize tooling performance for high-volume production environments.
