Springfield, Ohio Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Tool and Die Technician to support our tooling and production operations. This role is responsible for machining, repairing, and maintaining metal stamping dies and tooling to ensure efficient and high-quality production. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with toolroom equipment, and a solid understanding of stamping processes. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair production dies and tooling Operate toolroom machinery including lathes, mills, and grinders Read and interpret blueprints to plan machining processes Perform die maintenance, sharpening, and adjustments (in-press and bench work) Install and repair die sensors and safety devices Assemble, fit, and align tooling components such as jigs, fixtures, and gauges Make in-press adjustments to tooling and sensors as needed Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments Disassemble and reassemble dies for repair and maintenance Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as required Collaborate with supervisors, team leads, and production staff across shifts Qualifications High school diploma or GED required 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or toolroom environment preferred Strong knowledge of metal stamping processes (blanking, forming, drawing) Experience with toolroom machinery (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) Ability to read blueprints and apply mathematical concepts TIG welding experience is a plus Must have own hand tools and measuring instruments Basic computer and data entry skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, and stretching Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Normal vision and hearing required Work Environment Primarily factory/manufacturing setting Additional Requirements Steel-toed boots and safety glasses required in production areas Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple shifts
Pay:
$25.00 - $34.00 per hour
