Job Description

Phoenix Sintered Metals, LLC, a family-owned powder metal manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled and motivated Die Setter to join our team in Brockway, PA.
Available Shifts:
Second Shift:
3:00 PM - 11:00
PM Third Shift:
11:00 PM - 7:00 AM Key Responsibilities Determine proper press settings for ejection, fill, and compaction using process setup sheets. Qualify and prepare powder metal tooling for installation, including cleanliness, condition, de-magnetization, fit, and collision verification. Gather and install all required adaptations, including blocks, bolts, clamps, tubes, and related components. Set up tooling and equipment to achieve correct ejection, fill, and mold positions. Complete standard setups with or without existing setup sheets or historical data. Develop and document process setup sheets for standard parts. Perform multi-level tooling adjustments, including: Three levels of lower tooling (bottom punches) Two levels of upper tooling (top punches) Operate multi-level press controllers and establish proper timing and settings for successful part compaction. Verify machine safety features and ensure proper functionality to protect employees, tooling, and equipment. Inspect and maintain shoe conditions, identify opportunities to reduce tailings, and replace shoe bottoms as needed. Utilize inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other measuring devices. Calculate volumes and determine weight specifications based on material densities. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret process setup sheets. Experience with tooling setup, adjustment, and measurement equipment preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to quality and safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Previous Work Experience as a Die Setter Why Join Phoenix Sintered Metals?
