Job Description

Adecco is actively recruiting for a 1st Shift Toolmaker in Erie, PA. The Toolmaker will construct, refurbish and repair mold components using manual or CNC machines. Our client is a high-precision tooling and plastic injection mold manufacturer that is GROWING!!! T
  • Key Responsibilities for the Toolmaker in
Erie, PA:

Precision Tool Fabrication:
  • Construct, assemble, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and other specialized tooling to meet engineering specifications. +
  • Blueprint & CAD Interpretation:
  • Read, interpret, and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and CAD models to determine appropriate tooling requirements. +
  • Machine Operation:
  • Set up and operate precision machinery such as CNC milling machines, lathes, grinders, EDM (Electrical Discharge Machines), and other tooling equipment to shape and finish components. +
  • Manual Machining:
  • Perform manual machining operations with hand tools and machine tools to achieve precise tolerances and finishes where required. +
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Inspect finished tooling using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM) to verify accuracy and conformance to specifications. +
  • Tool Maintenance & Repair:
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of tooling assemblies, ensuring proper fit, function, and longevity of tools used on production lines. +
  • Troubleshooting:
  • Identify and resolve tooling issues by analyzing root causes and adjusting tooling components to improve performance. +
  • Process Improvement:
  • Work with engineering and production teams to suggest improvements to tooling design, manufacturing processes, and maintenance procedures. +
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area in compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards. +
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of tooling fabrication, adjustments, calibrations, and maintenance history for quality control and traceability. +
  • Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with designers, engineers, production supervisors, and quality personnel to ensure tools meet functional requirements and production schedules.
  • Key Requirements for the Toolmaker in Erie, PA;
  • + Blueprint reading & CAD interpretation + High attention to detail & tolerance control + Problem solving & troubleshooting + Metrology & inspection methods + Tool assembly and adjustment + Preventative maintenance + Strong communication & teamwork + Assemble and check all types and styles of injection or blow molds.
+ Operate assigned make of manual or CNC machine(s). + Use precision measuring tools to accurately record dimensions of components. + Assist superiors in any day to day activity. + Build skills to hold tight tolerances in efficient time. + Increase understanding of Tooling blue prints. + High school education / GED equivalent. + Able to accurately read blue prints. + Ability to climb on and off a forklift safely and without assistance. + Ability to safely operate a forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness. + Ability to push/pull loads of approximately 75lbs at a minimum of 10 times per day/shift. + Able to stand/walk for 8+ hours per shift. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Excellent problem solving skills. + Supervisors, and quality personnel to ensure tools meet functional requirements and production schedules.
