Job Description

About the Role As a Precision Tooling Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining manufacturing excellence by crafting and refining high-precision dies, jigs, and fixtures. You will leverage your technical expertise in machining and design to ensure our production equipment operates at peak performance, directly impacting the quality and consistency of our output. Responsibilities Interpret complex blueprints and schematics to plan the fabrication of specialized tooling, ensuring optimal safety and operational efficiency. Operate precision machinery, including lathes, mills, and grinders, to produce components that meet rigorous engineering tolerances. Assemble, troubleshoot, and modify progressive dies and fixtures to minimize downtime and enhance production capabilities. Develop custom templates and work aids to streamline fabrication processes and improve overall shop productivity. Validate finished parts using advanced measurement tools such as micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators to guarantee strict conformance to specifications. Proactively analyze existing tooling to recommend design improvements that extend tool life and enhance functional performance. Maintain a high-standard, organized workspace in alignment with 6S methodology to support a safe and efficient environment. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in tool and die making. Strong proficiency in reading technical blueprints, understanding geometric dimensions, and applying tolerances. Demonstrated ability to perform complex calculations using shop math and trigonometry. Expertise in the maintenance, repair, and operation of standard machine shop equipment. Preferred Skills Associate degree or vocational certification in Tool and Die Making or a related mechanical field. Experience with advanced CAD/CAM software for tooling design. Proven track record of optimizing tooling designs for high-volume manufacturing environments.
