Job Description

  • Job Title: Tool and Die Technician
  • Job Description
  • In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing injection molding tools to ensure high performance and minimal downtime in production.

You will work in the tooling department on the 3rd shift as a tool room technician (toolmaker), using CNC machines and welding equipment to repair molds for plastic injection and blow molding machines, complementing the maintenance team's efforts.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Perform repair, maintenance, and preventive care on injection molds.

+ Diagnose and correct issues such as flash, short shots, and mold wear.

+ Disassemble, clean, polish, and reassemble mold components.

+ Operate tool room machinery including mills, grinders, and lathes.

+ Collaborate with production and engineering teams to solve tooling issues.

+ Maintain accurate repair logs and maintenance records.

+ Ensure molds are properly stored, protected, and labeled.

+ Uphold all safety and quality standards in the tool room environment.

  • Essential Skills
  • + 3-5 years of tool maker experience.

+ Injection molding experience is preferred.

+ Manual machining, TIG welding, and disassemble and assemble dies.

+ Strong knowledge of injection mold tooling, hot runner systems, and cooling circuits.

+ Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).

+ Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.

+ Dependable, organized, and a proactive problem solver.

+ Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + 2+ years of experience in mold repair, tool & die, or precision machining.

  • The pay range for this position is $70720.

00 - $79040.00/yr.
