Progressive Die Press Reliability & Tooling Specialist Carlex Glass Manufacturing Nashville, TN Job Details $30 - $32 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Build Reliability. Elevate Quality. Reduce Waste. If you thrive where tooling precision meets process discipline, this role puts you at the center of uptime and quality for our press, shuttle, and annealing operations. What You'll Tackle Own offline inspections for press station mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems; drive the preventive maintenance schedule with maintenance and engineering. Audit complete tooling sets between runs and manage their mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic maintenance to keep every tool production-ready. Set up tooling to engineering-defined setpoints and partner with Engineering to refine configurations for maximum runtime and quality. Lead/participate in root cause analysis across the press station, shuttle, and annealing section to eliminate repeat failures. Keep rigorous digital records of measurements, adjustments, and corrective actions. Execute basic electrical and pneumatic work and intermediate mechanical work on press stations and tooling. Continuously monitor processes and make data-driven adjustments that improve yields, cut scrap, trim cycle times, and lower operational costs. Investigate defects and train operations personnel on manufacturing processes; oversee work-in-process for quality. Maintain dependable attendance, arrive on time, complete all scheduled shifts, and support overtime as needed. Collaborate in team environments and meetings; stand on concrete for 12-hour shifts; perform other assigned duties. Must-Haves High School diploma or GED Reliable, on-time attendance for all scheduled shifts Flexibility to move shifts based on training/resource needs Comfort working on a production floor around plant equipment and safety hazards PPE compliance: steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and dress code Preferred Background 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility
