Job Purpose This position must complete all planning paperwork throughout the production process, including inspecting and verifying that all processes conform to customer specifications, work instructions, mechanical drawings, blueprints, etc., and contribute to achieving the Quality Objectives. Duties and Responsibilities Trimming, grinding, sanding, and polishing of composite materials while holding high tolerances in accordance with drawings, prints, and work instructions Wet laminating with fiber and resin systems Mold preparation: sealing and releasing, priming, waxing, PVA, and freecoats Execute the vacuum bagging process to high standards Use production shop tools: hand, power, and pneumatic Utilize measuring equipment in process: calipers, micrometer, height gauge, etc. Perform work per engineering drawings as well as both written and verbal instructions, and work with engineers to develop composite hardware fabrication and assembly processes/tooling. Adhere to all documentation including travelers, work instructions, quality procedures, inspection sheets, and drawings as applicable to the work being performed. Maintain a clean and safe work area Demonstrate safe work habits and wear required protective equipment at all times as required Ability to sit and/or stand stationary for several hours Qualifications Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR § 120.62) — U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual — due to work on export-controlled defense programs.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT AND EXPERIENCE

Education (High School Diploma or GED) 3-5 years of composite manufacturing or repair experience preferred Experience working within a manufacturing environment

Excellent hand skills Team player Willing to work flexible hours and overtime Good mechanical aptitude Ability to use production tools such as: power drills, pneumatic sanders, surface grinders, angle grinders, pencil grinders, and basic hand tools Knowledge of industrial aerospace manufacturing equipment Ability to understand and communicate in spoken and written English sufficiently to safely perform the essential functions of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and quality documentation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is performed in an environmentally controlled manufacturing facility and may involve exposure to elevated noise levels, dust, fumes, and areas where heavy equipment is in operation. Eye and hearing protection are required and will be provided. Respiratory protection will be provided when required based on job duties and workplace conditions. Safety-toe footwear may be required and, when required, must be provided by the employee.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Full shift standing, walking, bending, and sitting may occur, as well as lifting no more than 50 lbs. Areas utilizing resins, solvents, and dust will require use of appropriate respiratory protection.
