South Chesterfield, VA What we are looking for: We are looking for a brazer to assist in the production of refrigerated display cases. Brazers join pieces of metal together by heating the pieces, placing a solder-like filler substance on the joint and allowing the heated metal to melt the filler and seal the joint. What you will be responsible for in this role: Use brazing torch to braze copper to copper, brass, aluminum or other dissimilar metals. Read and comprehend work orders and blueprints; identify part numbers. Braze coil assemblies/packages in accordance with defined standards; ensure product quality meets established standards. Cut metal piping to specified lengths. Preform checks to ensure brazing equipment is in safe and working order; report discrepancies to department leadership. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area. What are the basic qualifications? HS Diploma/GED. Minimum of six months experience brazing or technical certification in brazing. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure (including whole numbers, fractions and decimals). Experience with soldering or welding. Experience with/working knowledge of refrigerated display cases or HVAC systems. Manufacturing, testing or other hands on experience with refrigeration equipment. Must be able to operate power tools and perform tasks that require fine motor skills. May be required to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting or kneeling. Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs). Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
