Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) files to determine specifications for tool and die fabrication
  • Set up and operate various machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, and drill presses to fabricate and repair tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures
  • Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments to ensure proper fit and function of finished products
  • Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects using precision measuring instruments
  • Test completed tools or dies to ensure that they meet specifications
  • Troubleshoot issues with tools or dies and make necessary repairs or adjustments
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop new tooling designs or improve existing ones
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role
  • Proficiency in operating various machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, and drill presses
  • Strong knowledge of machining techniques and principles
  • Familiarity with stamping press operations and plastics injection molding processes
  • Ability to read blueprints, sketches, or CAD files to fabricate tooling components
  • Excellent mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations
  • Proficiency in welding techniques for tool repair or modification
  • Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Assemble:
In addition to the above responsibilities and requirements, the ideal candidate should also have experience in assembling tooling components. Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
