Job Description

Tool & Die Maker Location:
Germantown, WI Shift:
1st shift (typical day hours)
Pay:
$35-$40/hr (based on experience) What you'll be doing: This is a hands-on Tool & Die role where you'll own tooling builds from start to finish. You're not just running machines - you're building, troubleshooting, and making decisions that impact production.
Day-to-day looks like:
Building and assembling tooling (primarily stamping dies) Machining components to tight tolerances using manual equipment Reviewing prints and figuring out the best way to manufacture parts Participating in pre-build discussions to plan out jobs efficiently Troubleshooting issues during builds and making adjustments Training or mentoring apprentices when needed You'll be working closely with a small toolroom team - this isn't a "stay in your lane" type of shop. People here pitch in and take ownership.
What the environment is like:
Clean, organized toolroom (5S mindset) Mix of machining and assembly work Team-oriented but independent day-to-day Steady pipeline of tooling projects (not just maintenance work) Must-haves (non-negotiable): Completed Tool & Die apprenticeship OR ~6+ years of equivalent experience Strong background building metal stamping dies Ability to read prints and machine parts to tight tolerances Experience with manual machining (mills, grinders, etc.) Solid understanding of tooling assembly and troubleshooting
Nice-to-have:
Journeyman card Experience mentoring apprentices Exposure to tryout presses or debugging dies in production
Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
