Job Description
SUMMARY The primary function of an employee in this class is to learn to perform technical operations, maintenance, and repair of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Water Production Systems. Incumbents work with certified operators under close supervision. This classification may be subject to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. This is a training classification in the Wastewater/Water Operations series and is intended as a one-year training program within the Water Resource Management Department. The department may promote the employee to the first level of the Wastewater Operator or Water Operator series once the employee has successfully fulfilled the requirements of the performance development plan in the designated timeframe, meets the minimum requirements and has demonstrated proficiency and independently performs duties of the higher-level classification.
