Full-Time The Opportunity A well-known and growing General Contractor is looking to add an experienced Superintendent to its Bay Area team. The company has a strong reputation for delivering complex public infrastructure projects throughout Northern California and continues to expand its water/wastewater division. This position is ideal for a field-driven Superintendent with experience delivering water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and other heavy civil infrastructure projects who wants to join a contractor with a strong backlog and long-term opportunities for advancement. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day field leadership for water/wastewater construction projects. Plan and coordinate daily construction activities, manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and material deliveries. Work closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Develop and maintain short-term schedules, look-ahead plans, sequencing, and site logistics. Coordinate subcontractors and self-perform crews to maximize productivity and maintain project milestones. Review drawings and specifications and ensure work is completed in accordance with contract requirements. Identify constructability issues and field conflicts and work with the project team to develop practical solutions. Lead daily safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture across the project. Monitor workmanship and ensure company and project quality standards are maintained. Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, shutdowns, and tie-ins as required. Maintain accurate daily reports and field documentation. Build strong working relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel. Mentor Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and other field team members. Qualifications 5+ years of Superintendent or field leadership experience within heavy civil construction. Previous experience on water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, mechanical process systems, or similar infrastructure projects strongly preferred. Experience working for a General Contractor on public works or municipal projects is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, scheduling, safety, and quality control. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and self-perform crews. Strong leadership and communication skills with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach. Ability to effectively coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, owners, and subcontractors. California water/wastewater construction experience is preferred.
