Directly manage and develop Sanitation Supervisors at each plant. Standardize sanitation programs, procedures, and documentation across all facilities. Conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Establish sanitation KPIs and performance metrics across all locations. Ensure consistency in training, chemical usage, cleaning procedures, and recordkeeping. Ensure full compliance with USDA, FDA, GMP, FSMA, and SQF standards across all facilities. Maintain SQF certification and audit readiness at each plant. Serve as or collaborate closely with the PCQI to ensure sanitation programs align with the Food Safety Plan and Preventive Controls requirements. Write, review, and revise SSOPs as needed. Maintain and standardize the Master Sanitation Schedule for all facilities. Ensure proper interpretation and use of chemical labels and SDS/Safety Data Sheets. Oversee sanitation documentation to support regulatory inspections and third-party audits. Partner with QA and Operations leadership to address sanitation or compliance concerns. Ensure strict adherence to company Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during sanitation and equipment cleaning activities. Train and verify that sanitation supervisors and team members follow all LOTO and machine safety protocols. Partner with Maintenance and Safety Dept. to review and ensure safe equipment shutdown and startup procedures. Conduct routine audits to verify compliance with safety policies and OSHA standards. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all five plants. Investigate sanitation-related safety incidents and implement corrective actions. Ensure proper use of PPE and safe chemical handling procedures. Drive continuous improvement in workplace safety performance. Monitor sanitation labor costs, overtime, and supply expenses across all plants. Ensure sanitation activities are aligned with production schedules to minimize downtime. Oversee sanitation supply procurement and cost control. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and sanitation effectiveness. Develop standardized sanitation and safety training programs. Train supervisors and sanitation teams on GMPs, cleaning procedures, SQF standards, LOTO compliance, chemical handling, and workplace safety. Promote accountability, leadership development, and succession planning within sanitation teams. 7+ years of experience in USDA and/or FDA regulated food manufacturing facilities.
  • 3-5 years of sanitation leadership experience, preferably multi-site.
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, SSOPs, FSMA Preventive Controls, and sanitation systems.
  • Experience in SQF-certified facilities required.
  • PCQI certification required (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong knowledge of LOTO procedures, OSHA regulations, and plant safety programs.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage supervisors across multiple locations.
  • Experience leading regulatory and third-party audits.
  • Bilingual required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in reporting systems and documentation management.
  • Ability to travel between five facilities.
  • Flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
