Industrial Superintendent - Industrial Superintendent Sacramento, CA Full-TimeOn-Site$100,000 - $150,000 /yr Posted July 27, 2026 Industrial Superintendent Position Overview The Industrial Superintendent will lead on-site construction and maintenance activities for industrial and municipal infrastructure projects, with a focus on water and wastewater systems, water treatment plants, pump and lift stations, industrial process plants, and concrete structures. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, on budget, and to quality standards while coordinating crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and client representatives. Key Responsibilities Provide daily on-site supervision of construction and maintenance crews for industrial and municipal projects including water/wastewater systems, treatment plants, pump/lift stations, and concrete structures. Develop, implement, and maintain site schedules; coordinate sequencing of trades and resources to meet project milestones and minimize downtime. Enforce safety programs and site-specific safety plans; conduct toolbox talks, ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, and lead incident investigations when necessary. Manage quality control and assurance processes, including inspection of workmanship, materials verification, and oversight of testing and commissioning activities. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors; review submittals, RFIs, and change orders in collaboration with project management. Monitor project costs, labor hours, and equipment usage; report progress, variances, and forecasted impacts to project managers and stakeholders. Interpret and enforce contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, and engineering directives; ensure work conforms to design intent and regulatory requirements. Oversee concrete forming, placing, finishing, and curing processes; ensure proper shoring, rebarplacement, embedments, and curing procedures for durable structures. Supervise installation, startup, and testing of pumps, piping, valves, instrumentation, and control systems for water and wastewater applications. Maintain clear project documentation including daily reports, safety logs, quality records, as-built information, and handover packages. Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to field staff; identify skill gaps and support development initiatives. Serve as primary on-site point of contact for clients, utility owners, and regulatory agencies during construction and commissioning activities. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred; relevant technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. 7+ years of progressive field supervision experience on industrial or municipal projects, with demonstrable experience in water, wastewater, and water treatment plant construction and maintenance. Proven experience managing pump stations, lift stations, industrial process plants, and concrete structures, including formwork and concrete placement oversight. Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, site safety regulations (OSHA), confined space entry procedures, and environmental permitting requirements. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and engineering documents. Skilled in construction scheduling and project controls; proficiency with MS Office and construction management/scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, and client relationships. Certifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, Confined Space Entry, and relevant water/wastewater operator or industry certifications (NICET, CWEA, or similar) are a plus. Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites as required; ability to pass background and drug screening.
