Job Description

Pate Construction Co. is a family owned and operated Underground Utilities Construction Company, with more than 50 years' history of quality-minded, experienced leadership and a highly skilled, long term labor force. We have built our business with a solid commitment to providing a safe working environment and well maintained equipment. Must be able to interview in person in our Pueblo West Office. Experience in Underground Utility, Water & Sewer Mainline functions.
JOB SUMMARY
: Coordinate and supervise project construction activities. Provides leadership and training for crew members. Develops a daily construction plan and coordinates this schedule with the project superintendent and or P/M. Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the project. Understand the project plans and specifications. Maintains positive relationship with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards. Understands task specific productions and communicates with crew members and superintendent. This position reports to the Field Superintendent and General Superintendent. We currently have immediate opening for Wet Utility Foreman. Candidates must know how to perform a safety inspection to verify equipment is safe to operate. Communicate any concerns or improperly operating equipment to foreman, superintendent or mechanic. Roles & Responsibilities Promotes jobsite safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies jobsite hazards. Ensures that all company employees and subcontractors are adhering to the company safety policy. Know the projects complete scope of work. Coordinate and supervise all project construction activities. Provide leadership and training for the field crew under your supervision. Develops a daily construction plan and coordinates this schedule with the Field Superintendent, General Superintendent, and/or Project Manager. Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the project. Understands the project plans and specifications. Understand and follow Utility Locate marks and reports (CO811) Maintains positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and crew. Maintains and encourages an organized and clean jobsite, including company equipment. Ensures daily Equipment inspections are completed and necessary maintenance or work orders are submitted properly. Understands project and task productions and communicates with crew members. Ensure that construction activities move forward according to pre-determined schedule. Call and maintain current locates for the worksite and update as needed during construction.
Duties:
Educate, promote and enhance on safety policies and procedures Bring job in on time and budget Understand budget and productions Know the plans and specifications Develop a 2-3 day look ahead schedule for the jobsite and the crew Attend internal pre-construction meetings and location site walk-around prior to start date Review production goals with Field Superintendent Schedule equipment repairs with Equipment manager Communicate daily production goals with crew members Schedule and maintain locates throughout the project Report accidents or job-related issues to Superintendent Bring any discrepancies or changing field conditions to the attention of Superintendent and/or P.M. Keep daily job reports Track and report change orders accurately and timely Follow and Report Utility locate mistakes, near hits, and strikes immediately Conduct Weekly Toolbox Meetings with crew Keep equipment safe, clean and secure Perform accurate and detailed as-builts for the company and customers Pate Construction Co. SECONDARY DUTY
: As directed by the Field or General Superintendent.
EXPERIENCE
: 5 - 7 years in Underground Utility, Mainline Water/Sewer construction and /or General Construction. Understand, read, write, and speak fluent English.
EDUCATION
: High school diploma or equivalent
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
: Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License. Able to receive and maintain a favorable Local Background Check (LBC), National Agency Check (NAC) and a negative drug screen as applicable to the position requirements, current and future. OSHA 30 hr. Construction Safety and Health CPR Certification First Aid Training Competent Person Training in
Excavations, Hazard Identification, and Trench Shoring Confined Space Training Job Type:
