View More Jobs Wastewater Treatment Mgr - Full Treatment Millsboro, DE, United States Be the First to Apply Job Description Primary Purpose Responsible for establishing the day-to-day management of personnel, the implementation of wastewater operations, and maintenance programs. He/She will ensure wastewater permit compliance, oversee operational and maintenance activities along with disposal of treated wastewater via spray irrigation. This role is responsible for the full wastewater treatment cycle, including all biological, chemical and mechanical processes, as well as the final disposal of treated effluent via spray irrigation. Accountable for compliance with all regulatory requirements related to wastewater treatment, discharge and land application via irrigation. Major Duties & Responsibilities Provides direct management and supervision for operation of the Wastewater facility to achieve operational, regulatory and safety goals. Ensures the facility's treated wastewater meets all regulatory standards for environmental protection and enables sustainable land application through irrigation. Maintenance of wastewater equipment, supervision of any contract maintenance work, parts inventory and ordering. Also, includes participating in projects that impact wastewater operations. Oversees advanced treatment technologies, including biological reactors, filtration systems and automated irrigation equipment. Supervises workforce including scheduling shifts, performance reviews, and ensures all operators maintain required certifications and receives ongoing training in advanced treatment processes and irrigation management. Initiates and controls the overall Wastewater treatment system. This includes chemical ordering, collection and compilation of required monitoring of operations and sampling required by the permit. Ensures policies and procedures for the general operation of the business unit's compliance programs. Works within safety guidelines at all times. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 7 years' relevant experience with 5 years' progressive environmental/wastewater experience. Prior experience supervising teams in an industrial or utility environment. Applicable Wastewater license(s) to operate the Plant. Strong knowledge of applicable wastewater and maintenance programs. Experience preparing and submitting complex regulatory reports for full treatment and land application permits. Deep understanding of wastewater and land application regulations. Ability to analyze operational and environmental data for compliance and optimization. Experience managing facility upgrades, process improvements or compliance initiatives. Proficiency with SCADA systems, automated controls, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and automated irrigation systems. Demonstrated experience optimizing biological, chemical and mechanical treatment processes for efficiency, compliance and cost control. Hands-on experience with the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of spray irrigation systems for treated effluent disposal. About Us Are you looking for more than just a job?
