Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Wastewater Collections Operator to oversee a team of Wastewater Collections Operators. This role requires strong experience in sewer (collections) plumbing, field operations, and team leadership.
Pay:
$20-$30/hr
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement
  • Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Class 3 Distribution Operator License
  • FWPCOA Class C Collections License
  • Experience in maintenance of collection and distribution systems
  • Construction experience, including managing crews
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Plumbing experience
  • Sewer (collections) plumbing experience
Responsibilities:
  • Lead, train, and supervise field personnel on daily operations and job sites
  • Conduct pre-task planning and hazard analysis to ensure team safety
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot wastewater collection systems (sewer lines, manholes, valves, lift stations)
  • Perform sewer line cleaning, repairs, and new installations
  • Respond to work orders, field issues, and customer inquiries
  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule (including weekends/holidays)
  • Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, jet vac trucks, dump trucks, etc.)
  • Perform trench work, excavation, backfilling, and site restoration
  • Complete inspections, documentation, and ensure compliance with safety and permitting standards
  • Perform preventative maintenance and assist with system repairs
