Job Description

Job Summary Join our team as a USRO, Utility System Repair Operator, where you will be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing essential utility systems within water and wastewater treatment facilities. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work with advanced control systems, heavy equipment, and a variety of mechanical and electrical components. Your expertise will ensure the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of critical infrastructure, supporting environmental compliance and community health. Duties Operate and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to monitor and manage water treatment processes. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on pumps, valves, motors, and other mechanical equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Conduct data collection and analysis to identify system performance issues and recommend corrective actions. Operate heavy equipment such as tankers and construction machinery for system upgrades or repairs as needed. Assist with plumbing tasks, including pipe repairs, leak detection, and system flushing to maintain water quality standards. Support wastewater treatment operations by managing chemical dosing, sludge removal, and process adjustments. Engage in basic math calculations for flow rates, chemical dosages, and operational metrics while maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities. Experience Proven experience in equipment repair within water treatment or wastewater facilities. Mechanical knowledge related to pumps, valves, motors, plumbing systems, and heavy machinery operation. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) used in industrial settings. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment effectively in construction or plant environments. Strong analysis skills for troubleshooting system issues through data collection and process evaluation. Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations integral to system management. $26.89 - $35.07 per hour
