Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Public Works Employee. In this role, you will preform duties in the operations and maintenance of the water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and street departments. Requires a grade II water treatment, water distribution and wastewater license, or the ability to obtain these licenses. Requires a class B CDL, or the ability to obtain tis license.Duties:
- Performs daily collecting and testing of water and wastewater samples, performs construction and maintenance on the water distribution system and the wastewater treatment plant.
- Operates snow plow, sanding and salting equipment
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and vehicles
- Operates and monitors motors, pumps, filters, chemical feeders and other equipment necessary to ensure proper functioning of the water treatment plant.
- Construction and repairs concrete and blacktop streets, including patching, replacing curbs and sidewalks, filling crack and other tasks
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient completion of tasks
- Other duties as assigned or detailed in full job description
Experience:
- Possessing or ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes endorsement issued by the State of Iowa
- Pre-employment physical and drug screen is required
- Ability to obtain Grade I and Grade II Water Treatment, Water, Distribution, and Wastewater licenses as soon as the experience requirements are met.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Other duties as assigned
